Two key concepts are introduced and defined:
- Strategy: Strategy boils down to one
simple question: ‘What do you want your brewery to be when it grows up?’
In other words, what is your goal?
- Tactics: Once the strategic objective
has been set, a concrete set of tactics can be developed.
For example, if the Strategy is to become a niche producer
of super-premium, award-winning small batch brews esteemed by connoisseurs,
then the brewery will employ certain production, packaging, distribution and
other tactics to support that strategic goal.
